St. George’s Hospital

Neaco’s Spectrum Rail to Ramp balustrade system was installed at one of the UK’s largest teaching hospitals and one of the largest hospitals in Europe.

The Project

Our Spectrum Rail to Ramp Balustrade was installed as a curved ramp specifically for hospital wheelchair access. For this project in particul, the R2R specification was 12.8m of powder-coated balustrade grouted into concrete with a rose cover. The smooth-to-the-touch balustrade, with a highly durable non-chip finish, makes it ideal for high-traffic areas.

Spectrum’s eye-catching choice of solid colours has made it a popular specification for hospitals and schools for many years. St Georges Hospital offers very specialist care for the most complex of injuries which makes this product the perfect fit for this small scheme.

The Product

Unlike fabricated solutions, our Spectrum systems are pre-engineered for modular assembly on-site, providing fast installation which makes it ideal for tightly scheduled construction phases designed to minimise disruption. Spectrum is also smooth and warm to the touch with a zero-maintenance, non-chip finish which is suitable for high-traffic areas.

Requiring no welding for assembly, Spectrum’s versatile modular system has the capacity to meet virtually any design permutation or installation requirement. Its range of design options includes offset glass infill and offset perforated panels.

Utilising the Rail to Ramp Spectrum balustrade means all areas can be accessible but with a smooth aesthetically pleasing coating.
